Celebration of Universal Brotherhood Day: Universal Brotherhood Day is celebrated on 11 September annually around the world to honour the historic speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda on this day in 1893 in Chicago to the delegates of the World Parliament of Religions in America. VKV, Nalbari celebrated this special occasion with great zeal and enthusiasm on 11 September 2022 like yesteryears. Students and teachers, parents and eminent citizens of the town participated in the programme. They took part in a procession to celebrate the day and spread the messages of the wandering monk Swami Vivekananda. The programme began at 8 a.m. at Gurdon Field, Nalbari. Dr Krishna Ch. Goud ( Retired principal of MNC girls College, Nalbari) was the Chief Guest of the programme. The guests of honour of the programme were Dr Dinamani Bhagabati ( Former HOD, Deptt of Geography, Nalbari College), Dr Nakul Deka(Retired principal of Bapuji college, Sarthebari), Jiten Talukdar (VMC member, VKV Nalbari, Active member of RSS), Harihar Sharma ( Basudev mandir secretary), Pranab Barman ( Goun Budha Basudev village). The programme began with Mangalacharan and the lighting of the lamp. Students of the Vidyalaya presented a Stuti Geet of Swamiji on this occasion. Krish Jiyan Kakati, a student of the Vidyalaya delivered the Chicago speech of Swamiji. The Chief Guest spoke on the significance of the day. At 8.30 he flagged off to mark the initiation of the procession. During the march, students of the Vidyalaya displayed the attires of the northeastern states and different cultural groups of Assam. Another notable item in the march was the Band Display of the Vidyalaya, the one and only school band at Nalbari. The programme ended at about 10 o'clock with Shanti Mantra after all the participants had assembled back at the venue.
